What does it actually do?

Recognized as a standard antifungal comparator in dandruff research. According to PubMed, a 2025 study on a novel enzymatic anti-dandruff approach (Ivanova A, Buzova V. “A novel enzymatic approach for a targeted fungal growth inhibition.” BMC Microbiology, 2025) used climbazole among a set of conventional antifungal agents as a benchmark for comparison against Malassezia species, reflecting its established, widely recognized role in this category.
